ANWB is selling new cars on its website
Car owners’ association ANWB said on Tuesday it is selling new cars via its internet site, with a 4% to 7% price reduction for its members.
The cars can be collected from a central point in Almere or the buyer can ask to have the car delivered to his front door or his local dealer.
Buyers will have to dispose of their old car themselves as the ANWB is not offering a part-exchange system.
Eric Tak, chairman of car dealers’ association Bovag, told the Volkskrant there is no question of unfair competition. ‘The cars are provided by the dealers and the reduction is balanced by the advantage of not having part-exchange,’ he told the paper.
