Ahold books profit and sales increase in Q3
Supermarket group Ahold booked a 15% increase in net profit in the third quarter of this year, the parent of the Albert Heijn chain said in a statement on Thursday.
Sales were up 6% at nearly €7bn at constant exchange rates.
The group gained market share in all major markets, CEO Dick Boer said. Nevertheless, ‘customers remain cautious in their spending and focus on value in an inflationary environment,’ Boer said.
The results were better than expected by analysts, Nos television reported.
