October was sunny and warm
October was a warm and sunny month with less rain than average, the KNMI weather bureau said on Monday.
The average temperature this month was 11.4 Celsius, 0.7 of a degree higher than normal for this time of year.
There were 149 hours of sunshine, compared with 113 in an average October and just 69 mm of rain. However, the north was considerably wetter than the south, the KNMI said.
