Jail for Remembrance Day screamer

The man who disrupted last year’s Remembrance Day commemorations by screaming and causing the crowd to panic, has been jailed for one year, six-months suspended.

The 39-year-old man, known as Gennaro P, has also been banned from attending the ceremony on Dam square in central Amsterdam for five years.
The sentence is in line with the public prosecution department’s demand.
Dozens of people were injured in the panic which broke out after P screamed during the official two-minutes silence.
P has a long history of petty crime, news agency ANP reported.
