Home working gains ground
Working at home is gradually gaining ground, with 27% working at least one hour a week at home last year compared to 25% in 2005, says news agency ANP.
The amount of time worked at home also grew, from 5.5 hours a week in 2005 to 6.2 hours last year.
Education, where lessons are prepared and homework checked, and the financial, service and culture sectors have the bulk of the home workers, says ANP. Nearly half of all home workers are well-educated.
Last year 30% of men and 25% of women worked from home. Three in ten were 25 to 65 years old and one in ten 15 to 25 years of age.
