Holiday postcard takes 34 years to arrive

A 51st birthday postcard for Carla Stomphorst took 34 years to arrive at her home in Almen, a village of 1,200 people in Gelderland, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.

The card was sent by her friend Cox Bomhof who was on holiday in England at the time.
It is not clear from the Telegraaf’s coverage where the card has been since 1977 but it was delivered to the address where Stomphorst, now 85, still lives. The two ladies are still friends, the paper says.
