Eindhoven drops free bus services for kids and pensioners

Eindhoven city council will no longer fund free bus services for the under 12s and pensioners from next year.

Councillors have agreed the free service has only had a marginal effect on reducing traffic and is not cost effective. The €500,000 which the council invests in the scheme will be used to reduce morning rush hour traffic, news agency ANP said.
The free buses were introduced in 2007.
