Dutch film maker looks to finish River Phoenix’ last film

Dutch film and television production company Eyeworks is looking into the possibility of completing the last film to star actor River Phoenix, who died of a drugs overdose during filming in 1993, the AD reports on Wednesday.

The film, Dark Blood, was directed by Dutch director George Sluizer. Sluizer, who is now 79, does not have enough footage in his possession to complete the picture, the AD says.
In the film, Phoenix played Boy, a youthful widower who lives as a hermit on a nuclear testing site, waiting for the end of the world while making dolls that he believes have magical powers.
