Three new hospitals have topped this year’s Elsevier ranking of the best healthcare institutions in the country.

Elsevier puts the Meander medical centre in Amersfoort in first place, followed by the Albert Schweizer hospital in Dordrecht and St Antonius hospital in Nieuwegein.
The ranking is based on patient safety, quality of care and reliability, and partly stems from healthcare inspectorate information.
Last month, the AD newspaper said Sint Franciscus hospital in Rotterdam is the best in the country.
