Air France-KLM reports mixed results

Air France-KLM announced on Monday that passenger traffic increased 8.4% to 6.86 million in September compared with the year earlier period. However, cargo traffic fell 3.4%.

The load factor in passenger services rose 1.5% to 85.2%, while the cargo load factor fell 3% to 78.2%.
Asia and Europe accounted for the most passenger growth at around 9.5%. In Africa and the Middle-East passenger growth was 2.9%.
Air France-KLM said last month it will be increasing seat capacity this winter but by less than expected. The airline blames this on the uncertain financial situation and high fuel costs. Capacity will increase 3.4% on 2010.
