Schoolboy arrested for threatening school bloodbath on Twitter

A 17-year-old youth has been arrested in Maastricht for using the microblogging service Twitter to threaten to kill everyone at his school, in the second incident of its kind this week.

‘Everyone will die at the Sint Maartens college in Maastricht. I will see to it,’ he wrote. In another message he said he ‘had had enough’ and tomorrow would be the last day he would go to school.
The youth said later he had sent the tweets as a test to see if he would be arrested and if he would be considered a terrorist.
Impact
‘He will not get away with it, given the social impact of these sort of tweets,’ a police spokesman told the Volkskrant.
The college was in the news earlier this week after one pupil brought in an airsoft gun, a replica weapon used in games.
On Thursday an 18-year-old youth from Losser was arrested for threatening to cause a blood bath at an ROC vocational training college in Hengelo using Twitter.
