Insurer Ageon to cut 300 jobs

Insurance group Aegon is to cut 300 jobs through reorganising its Dutch operations, the company said on Thursday.

The job losses are unavoidable to make sure the company is fit to cope with the ‘changes and opportunities’ in the Dutch insurance market, the company said in a statement.
The reorganisation will cost €60m and will be completed by the end of this year. Unions say this is too soon to ensure the process is carried out smoothly for all concerned.
