Inflation stable at 2.6% in August, higher than eurozone average
The annual rate of inflation was 2.6% in August, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
The price of petrol, energy and tobacco have helped drive up inflation over the past year, as have telephone and internet services. At the same time, the cost of consumer electronics in particular has fallen, the CBS said.
According to EU calcuations, the Dutch inflation rate is 2.8%, above the 2.5% average in the eurozone as a whole.
