Utrecht is the most innovative province in the Netherlands, while Drente trails in last place, according to a new report by ING bank researchers quoted by news website nu.nl.

Utrecht scores highly because it is a university town and 36% of its residents are considered to be highly educated, the website said.
Noord-Holland, Brabant and Groningen also perform better than average in terms of innovation.
