Kunduz police trainers frustrated at ‘logistics chaos’
Members of the Dutch police training mission to the northern Aghan province of Kunduz are complaining about ‘logistics chaos’ in their emails, NOS news reported on Sunday evening.
The police trainers arrived in Kunduz six weeks ago but have not yet received the bulk of the supplies needed to do their job. In addition, just two of the expected 20 interpreters have been appointed.
The Dutch soldiers began independent patrols this weekend, after being accompanied by Germans or Americans and are now ready to begin training Afghan police. The full training programme does not however formally begin until 2012.
