Vodafone given go ahead to take over BelCompany

The competition authority NMa has given the green light to the take-over of telecom chain BelCompany by Vodafone from the Macintosh retail group.

The NMa said the deal can go through on the condition that Vodafone and BelCompany shops do not offer KPN or T-Mobile subscriptions from next year. Nor may KPN and T-Mobile outlets offer Vodafone services.
‘There is very little competition between them and that is why we have introduced this precondition,’ NMa director Henk Don said in a statement.
