Tinned peaches hide €80m-worth of cocaine

Five people have been arrested in connection with the smuggling of 2,500 kilos of cocaine, hidden in a consignment of tinned peaches from Ecuador.


The drugs were found in a container in Rotterdam port following a tip-off. The five men were picked up over the course of the past two weeks and range in age from 32 to 59.
The public prosecution department says the street value of the drug was €80m.
