Prime minister will be at EU debt crisis summit

Prime minister Mark Rutte will attend next Thursday’s crisis summit to discuss the European debt crisis, his spokesman confirmed on Friday.

On Thursday, Rutte said there is no point in holding a meeting of the 17 eurozone countries unless there is certainty that agreement will be reached.
The Netherlands and Germany are pressing for more private sector involvement in a new deal to bail out Greece.
‘We assume a package of measures will be on the table before the summit,’ the spokesman said. ‘We will make sure this package meets Dutch conditions.’
