Oranje draws Turkey, Romania in World Cup qualifying group

The Netherlands has drawn Turkey, currently coached by Guus Hiddink, in the group stage of the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Hungary, Romania, Estonia and Andorra complete the line up in Group D. The group stage begins next September.
The group winner will automatically go through to the World Cup finals. The eight best second-placed teams will play for four other places.

Biggest threat

‘It is a difficult section with three genuine football nations in Turkey, Hungary and Romania. Those will be our main rivals, with Turkey being the biggest threat,’ Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk told the Fifa website.
The Netherlands is also in same group as Hungary in the 2012 European Championship qualifiers.
Oranje is currently number two in the Fifa world rankings.
