‘ING to sell Belgian insurance arm separately’

Financial services group ING is planning to sell its Belgian insurance arm separately from the rest of its insurance division, which is set to be hived off next year, the Financieele Dagblad reports.

The paper says Delta Lloyd and Swiss insurer Baloise are among the potential buyers.
ING declined to comment on the report.
The bank has been ordered to divest its insurance arm by the European commission as a condition of receiving state aid during the financial crisis.
