Hoofddorp family fire which killed five was set by father say police
The fire which killed a family of five at a house in Hoofddorp near Schiphol earlier this week was started by the father, police said on Friday.
The man, his wife and three children died in the blaze.
Police said a forensic examination of the house showed that fires had been started in several places. All five people in the house died because of the fire and there were no signs of violence on their bodies, news agency ANP said.
The police said earlier that a jerrycan had been found in the house and the doors had been barricaded.
