Holiday exodus starts today
The first big holiday exodus to the south is expected on Friday as schools in the central belt of the country break up for the summer.
The ANWB motoring organisation is warning of heavy traffic in the run-up to the evening rush hour and at the weekend. Hundreds of thousands of families are expected to head off on holiday abroad this weekend.
Southern areas will follow next week while schools in the north of the country will close on July 16. Primary schools in the north have to wait until July 23.
