Fonterra ups Amsterdam presence, appoints Dutch CEO

New Zealand dairy giant Fonterra has opened a research and development unit in Amsterdam, the company said on Thursday.

Fonterra, the biggest dairy export group in the world, opened its European head office in the Dutch capital earlier this year.
By opening the R&D centre, the move from Germany is now complete, the Financieele Dagblad said.
Fonterra has also announced that Dutchman Theo Spierings will take over as its new CEO in September.
Spierings led the Dutch farmer dairy co-operative, Friesland Foods, into a merger with Campina in 2008.
