FC Twente beats Ajax 2-1 to take Johan Cruijff trophy
Last year’s KNVB Cup winners FC Twente beat league title holders Ajax 2-1 on Saturday to clinch the traditional Johan Cruiff shield.
The match between the cup and league winners takes place at the start of every new football season.
Twente, which was down to 10 men for much of the second half, also took the trophy last year.
