Friday is expected to be the busiest day of the year at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport as 171,000 passengers are expected to arrive, leave or stop over.

The airport has taken steps to try to reduce frustration for passengers, with extra personnel providing information and entertainers on hand to keep the crowds amused.
However, long waiting times are inevitable and passengers are being urged to make sure they get to the airport in enough time, and to check in online at home.
