The best raw herring in the Netherlands can be found at the Simonis fish shop in Scheveningen, according to the AD’s annual herring test.

Simonis scored 10-, a fraction more than the numbers two and three on the list.
Two years ago, Simonis scored zero in the AD competition, but was in third place last year after finding a new supplier.
The company has taken on extra staff to cope with the expected increase in customers over the next few days.
