The national cultural heritage service has allocated almost €58m in grants to 477 projects this year, of which €31m will go to restoring listed churches.

Funding is available for listed buildings – not dwellings – such as farms and mills, as well as parks and archaeological finds.
The service received a total 2,329 applications for financial help.
