PSV sells striker Dzsudzsák to Russian side
Eindhoven football club PSV has sold Hungarian striker Balázs Dzsudzsák to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala for a rumoured €14m, according to media reports at the weekend.
Dzsudzsák, 24, had a contract with PSV until 2015. He joined the club in 2008 and scored 16 times last season.
PSV technical director Marcel Brands told the AD on Saturday the club is to focus more on its own youth training set-up. ‘We want to move towards a pool of 18 or 19 players, with an additional four of five big talents,’ he said.
The aim is to give youth players the feeling that they have a real chance of breaking through to the first team, he said. This has not been the case recently because of the club’s policy of buying in foreign talent.
PSV’s financial troubles mean the club is no longer in a position to pay high transfer fees and salaries.
