A soldier was killed and 14 people injured on Tuesday morning following a serious crash on the A2 motorway. The motorway between Weert and Budel heading to Eindhoven has been closed until at least 16.00 hours.

The cause of the accident is not yet confirmed, but an eye-witness told the Algemeen Dagblad that a Heineken lorry drove into an army truck near the Budel turn-off. Three cars failed to stop in time and hit the lorries.
The injured, four of them in a critical condition, were taken to hospital.
