GGZ takes industrial action against budget cuts
The mental health services authority GGZ is taking industrial action on June 27 against the ‘draconian cuts’ being introduced by health minister Edith Schippers.
The action, in which no new patients will be admitted in a relay across the country, is particularly aimed at the own risk element being introduced into mental healthcare. This is ‘discriminatory, stigmatising and unaffordable for the most vulnerable patients’, the GGZ told news service ANP.
Schippers plans to cut €600m from the mental healthcare budget.
