Economic growth to reach 2.2% this year, says central bank
Dutch economic growth will stabilise at around 2% over the next few years, the central bank said in a statement on Tuesday.
This year, growth will reach around 2.2%, well up on the 1.6% estimate made at the end of last year.
However, ‘economic conditions in the Netherlands are also expected to weaken, slowing the pace of growth in 2012 to 1.7%’ in line with international developments, the bank said.
Not until 2013, when the domestic recovery becomes more solid, will growth cautiously pick up to 2.1%, the central bank said.
