Dutch financial paper puts website behind pay wall
The Financieele Dagblad has become the first Dutch newspaper to place its website largely behind a pay wall.
The financial paper relaunched its website, which claims almost one million unique visitors a month, on Wednesday with a subscription-based system.
Readers can access 10 articles a month free, but have a choice of five paid forms of subscription for greater access.
‘We are being too slow to teach consumers that news with value has a price,’ the paper’s director Jacques Kuyf said.
