Ajax midfielder Demy de Zeeuw is on the verge of agreeing a three-year contract with Russian side Spartak Moscow.

De Zeeuw, who joined Ajax from AZ Alkmaar in 2009, still needs to get through a medical but will then make the move to Russia, he said on the microblogging website Twitter.
In other significant transfer news, striker Danny Koevermans is leaving PSV for Canadian club Toronto. The 32-year-old has scored 34 goals in 91 appearances for the Eindhoven side.
