Press office request awakens interest in old interview with PM
A request from the state information service RVD to young women’s magazine Viva about a four-year-old interview with Mark Rutte, now prime minister, awakened a flurry of interest about the contents, free newspaper Spits reports on Wednesday.
Journalist Tatum Daglet was at a recent event with Rutte and was asked by the RVD not to raise the interview, sending her back into the archives to find out what Rutte had actually said.
In the interview, Rutte apparently said he would like to have been bisexual because then ‘the whole world is after you’, Spits states. He also talked about the fact he is not in a relationship and that he still has dinner once a week with his mum.
Rutte, an ordinary MP at the time, also said he likes to walk around his home naked, ‘ as long as the curtains are drawn’.
This week’s edition of Viva has gossip as the theme, so the most piquant quotes from the PM have now been published again.
