Pensioners say they are ignored in reform debate

The Dutch pensioners association, which represents hundreds of thousands of corporate pension beneficiaries, is extremely concerned about the ongoing debate over pension reform and is prepared to take legal action to uphold its members’ rights.

In particular, the NVOG is angry that unions and employers are leading the debate. ‘It is a debate about us, without us and that is not how things should be in this modern age,’ chairman Martin van Rooijen said in a video statement.
The organisation is now prepared ‘for a long political and legal struggle to prevent our pension rights being degraded,’ Rooijen said.
