Pay cut for next central bank chief
The successor to central bank president Nout Wellink when he steps down in July will earn 23% less in basic salary, finance minister Jan Kees de Jager has told parliament.
Wellink earns a basic €406,650 but his replacement will get €315,000, the finance minister said.
The basic salaries of other central bank board members will also go down when they are replaced.
The cabinet is to discuss Wellink’s replacement at Friday’s cabinet meeting, says news agency ANP. The agency says candidates for the seven year contract include central bank board member Lex Hoogduin and NIBC financial chief Kees van Dijkhuizen.
