Most unqualified youngsters still get jobs

Nearly three quarters of youngsters who leave school without any qualifications will eventually get a job, according to new research from the national statistics office CBS.

Of the 53,000 youngsters who left secondary school or vocational college in 2005 without a certificate, 72% had found a job within four years. However, one year after leaving school, only 53% were in work, the CBS said.
By contrast, 81% of school leavers who passed their diploma had a job within one year, rising to 92% after four years.
