KPN to present new strategy

Telecoms group KPN is due to present its new strategy to take the company up to 2015 on Tuesday.

The presentation by new CEP Eelco Blok will take place in London.
The new strategy will centre on a change in the payment model for new telecom services such as mobile internet, following a decline in earnings from traditional speech and text message services.
The company said last month it is to introduce a range of new charges from the summer to cover the cost of extra mobile phone services.
KPN’s earnings from mobile phone calls and texting are down because consumers are increasingly using special applications (apps) to access free services over the internet. This includes internet-based telephony such as Skype as well as Facebook and other free messaging services.
