KPN buys cable company

Telecom group KPN announced on Monday it is buying cable company Caiway which serves 158,000 customers in the south-west of the Netherlands with internet, television and fibreglass networks.


The deal does not include the network infrastructure used by Caiway which will remain with Rabo Construction Fund’s Communication Infrastructure Fund.
No financial details were given.
Caiway will continue to operate under its own name and KPN will honour Caiway’s contracts with its customers, according to the company press release.
