Cucumber exports to Germany collapse after E-coli outbreak

Farm ministry officials, food retail organisation CBL and the market gardeners product board have called an emergency meeting this afternoon to discuss the E-coli outbreak in Germany.

The export of Dutch cucumbers to Germany has collapsed since cucumbers were cited as a possible source of the infection, which has so far killed 10 people.
‘We need to know the source of the outbreak as soon as possible,’ said a spokeswoman for the CBL.
