The sunny forecast for the next few days means spring 2011 is likely to be the sunniest on record, according to weather bureau Meteoconsult.

Between March 1 and last Sunday there were 617 hours of sunshine, placing 2011 in the top four sunniest springs.
Just 34 more hours will take 2011 past the previous record, set in 1990. ‘Things have to go very wrong not to reach that,’ Meteoconsult is quoted as saying.
