Strike halts public transport in The Hague outside rush hour

There are no buses, trams and light rail services operating in The Hague between 10.00 and 14.00 hours on Wednesday because of a strike by public transport workers.

The strike has been organised by unions in protest at government plans to force the city to put public transport out to competitive tender and to force through spending cuts.
Off-peak strikes were earlier held in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
