Man who threatened politicans using Twitter jailed
A 36-year-old man from Rotterdam who wrote threatening messages to former politician Femke Halsema using an Arabic alias has been jailed for 17 days and given 180 hours community service.
The man used the microblogging service Twitter to threaten Halsema’s daughter and also said he would cut the throats of other politicians. In court, he claimed the messages were satirical and meant to stimulate political discussion.
