The father of the 12-year-old Groningen girl who gave birth on a school trip last week has admitted he is the father of her baby, according to media reports.

The girl and her daughter are currently being cared for in a foster home, as is her younger brother. Her father is in custody.
The public prosecution department has also confirmed the man, who is 52, was convicted of abusing another daughter in 1995.
The Telegraaf reported earlier the man had been jailed for two years for abusing a daughter who is now in her 30s.
No-one has yet commented on why the 12-year-old’s mother left her father or why the children had been allowed to live with a convicted child abuser.
