Two children, their babysitter, father and his girlfriend were locked up in the cellar of their home overnight on Saturday during an armed robbery on their farm near Utrecht.

The robbers burst into the house in the village of ‘s Gravensloot around 11pm and locked the babysitter and two children in the cellar. When their father returned with his girlfriend some time later, they were tied up and locked in the cellar as well.
A four-year-old girl was asleep upstairs during the entire incident. When she woke up and could not find the rest of the family, she went to the neighbours for help, news agency ANP reported.
No one was injured and it is unclear how much cash and other valuables the robbers got away with.
