Website opens for new rules on rental homes

The tenants’ association Woonbond on Tuesday opened a website for people who are caught up in new European rules for the rental homes market.

Since January 1 2011, housing corporations must rent 90% of their housing stock with a monthly rent of €650 to households with an annual income of no more than €33,614.
The Woonbond has already received dozens of complaints from households who earn just over the maximum income but who cannot afford to rent in the private market or buy, reports Trouw.
The website will give the Woonbond some idea of how big the problem is.
