Two slow-moving ships to get military protection against pirates

Two Dutch merchant navy ships are to get armed protection against pirates, according to television current affairs show Nieuwsuur.

The show claims defence minister Hans Hillen has agreed to deploy between 20 and 30 members of the military on board the ships, which are extremely slow-moving. This makes them especially vulnerable to pirates, the show said.
