The Netherlands should strengthen its trading links with Singapore, South Korea and the Gulf States, foreign minister Uri Rosenthal is quoted as saying in Tuesday’s Financial Dagblad.
These are ‘regional hubs’ of similar size and interest as the Netherlands, the minister said during a speech at the University of Tilburg.
The Netherlands can reach ‘broad strategic partnerships’ with the US, China, Russia and India through the European Union but these countries too have niches where Dutch firms can flourish, he said.
