Seal rescue centre founder bows out

Lenie ‘t Hart, who founded the seal rescue centre in Pieterburen on the Wadden Sea coast in 1971, is leaving the organisation.

‘t Hart, 69, will remain as a volunteer, Nos television reported.
The seal crèche has an annual budget of some €1.7m, raised by donations and entrance money. It is currently caring for 168 sick or very young seals.
