Philips hints television arm may be up for sale
Electronics giant Philips is ‘seriously taking into account’ that a sale may be the solution for the loss-making television activities, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Tuesday.
Another option would be a licensing agreement with partners, the paper quotes the spokesman as saying.
Philips expects the television arm to post an operational loss of up to €120m over the first three months of this year and says it is ‘extremely unlikely’ the unit will make a profit over the year as a whole.
